Iron infusions in Queanbeyan

Iron infusions in a GP clinic close to Canberra. A GP first checks your iron levels and whether an infusion suits you.

Who it may suit

People with low iron where iron tablets have not worked, are not tolerated, or are not fast enough, including during pregnancy when your doctor advises it.

How it works

  1. 1Initial consultation. Your GP reviews your blood tests, or orders them, and checks whether an iron infusion is needed. If an infusion is the right treatment for you, you sign a consent form at this appointment. Laverty Pathology is in the building.
  2. 2Infusion day. If an infusion is needed, it is booked for a later day.
  3. 3Follow-up. A repeat blood test in a few weeks shows how your iron levels have responded.

Cost

There is a GP consult fee and an infusion fee, which your GP explains at your first visit. The iron itself is usually filled on a script at a pharmacy.
